A Free Online 30-Day Yoga Challenge

We’re hosting a free 30-day virtual yoga challenge that’s themed around energy. For this yoga challenge, we’re taking you into the stars for a celestial experience that embodies movement, mindfulness, and astrology! In April, the yoga classes of the day will be based on our theme and take you on a journey from the cosmos to your body—similar to the exploration of the Koshas in yoga philosophy. 
Energize 30-Day Virtual Yoga Challenge starts April 1st – April 30th, 2021. For four weeks, participants will see a yoga or meditation class for each day of the month to complete. Those who complete the full 30 days of yoga will be entered to win one of the prizes from our partners! (Read on to learn more) 

For this event, we’re offering two LIVE yoga classes weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays!

Enjoy a 60-minute LIVE vinyasa class with me on Saturdays and a 30-minute class on Wednesdays.

If you cannot make the LIVE classes, they will be available on-demand 24-hours after the class date and time.

On-demand classes on Wednesdays and Saturdays in lieu of the LIVE class are also an option for members of the challenge to complete the class of the day. 

Timeline for the challenge:

  • APRIL 1st, 2021: Energize Virtual Yoga Challenge begins.
  • May 3rd: we’ll send out a short form to be filled out by those who completed the 30-days to be eligible to win prizes. 
  • We’ll check to see that you logged into the apps every day of the month, and from that list, we will hold a raffle to give out the prizes from our partners! Here is the clip of the raffle from one of our past challenges.

Rules for the challenge:

  1. Practitioners must complete the 30 days of yoga, however, we invite you to move the classes around to serve how you feel—if you’re tired, don’t push yourself. Take savasana or rest on your mat when you need it. The point is making it to your mat every day, and that’s what counts towards the 30 days!
  2.  Practitioners are encouraged to interact with the day’s class by typing YES in the comments in the PWC App or in the private Facebook Group. This practice promotes motivation, positivity, and inclusion within the community. 
  3. The challenge is completely free for all new members for the month by using the coupon code. If you don’t cancel your subscription at the end of the challenge, you will be charged the monthly billing charge. 

The 30-day virtual yoga challenges are free for all new members of Practice with Clara as we want to support and sustain the community-at-large, which means providing yoga to those who may not be able to afford it otherwise. 

How We Honour Accountability

The best way to create a habit is through accountability – Check-in with the PWC community to hold yourself accountable for the challenge and your intentions as we shift into spring.

Here are three ways for you to get in touch and say YES to completing the daily classes. 

  1. In the PWC App:  type ∾ YES ∾ in the comments after you finish the class to share that you’ve done your yoga.
  2. In the PWC FB Group: We will post the class daily, you can type ∾ YES ∾ in the comments to share that you’ve done your yoga.
  3. Daily notifications via the App – We will be sending a daily notification through the PWC app – you can opt-in through the app settings and you can also opt-out if you’d prefer to not receive it.
You choose the method, we hold you accountable for your goal for the month.

We’ll be sharing the Energize Class Calendar and the Journaling Booklet on March 27th for you to preview the classes and content that will hold you accountable and inspire your progression throughout the month! 

Outline of Classes

 
Each day of the week is allotted a certain style (vinyasa, Hatha, yin/restorative) so that you feel balanced and have time to recover. 
 
This practice is ongoing; let’s take care of our bodies and minds and watch our progress unfold. 

I provide PLENTY of options for you to choose from, so if you’re not feeling the class and want more time for rest, there are additional options. The only two days I haven’t prescribed a class are on Fridays and Sundays. These two days, I’d love it if you could honor relaxation by joining me for a yin/restorative class or meditation. If you crave more fire and select a more movement-based class, that’s also totally fine—you know your body best. 

 

Here’s the outline for the program I’ve created for us to explore together:

 

∙ Monday: we start the week with vinyasa flows and hatha yoga

∙ Tuesday: we light it up with a vinyasa class OR something softer

∙ Wednesday: LIVE yoga class with me or a similar style class on-demand.

∙ Thursday: we add a little more fire OR a slower flow/Hatha class

∙ Friday: we rest our bodies  with mantra and meditation 

∙ Saturday: LIVE yoga class with me or a similar vinyasa class

∙ Sunday: we rejuvenate with yin/restorative yoga or meditation

#PracticeWithClara is an online platform that offers yoga, mantra and meditation classes, launched by world renowned yoga teacher Clara Roberts-Oss.

Our team is looking for a Part time Content Marketing Coordinator – 20 hours per week with potential for a full time role.

This is mostly a remote position (Can work from home), however we are in the process of acquiring a studio for shooting content and we would love you to join us in that space when ready for some of those hours (very flexible)

 

3 things we need right now

– Social media distribution (LaterApp, Insta, FB,)

– Content distribution (Blog and video)

– Reporting (Web analytics, social media performance, Growth/sales)

 

The Gig

This is a dynamic position, we have many exciting marketing tasks that we would love to implement in the coming months (SEO, content distribution, etc). The ideal candidate probably knows what most of those tasks are or is seriously eager to learn them and willing to work hard to learn fast and implement.

 

This gig requires:

– Attention to detail (Grammar and file management)

– Crisp organization skills

– Flexibility (Things change fast and often)

– Knowing your way around todays tech (google docs, analytics, social platforms, WordPress, CRO and Distribution tools)

We love reporting and so should you – If you dig the idea of creating graphs and having data tell a story, we’re likely to get along 🙂

Experience with apps and app marketing is a plus but not a must.

New Apps for #PracticeWithClara

I’m so excited to officially announce the launch of my new Platform and apps!

When we first launched this project (Aug 2019), I had a vision of creating an online platform to share my teachings to those who were not able to make it to my live yoga classes on a regular basis and to continue to build a larger online library for those who have been practicing with me on other platforms. 

Over the past 8-9 months we’ve learned a ton from our members. Thanks to their requests we have been inspired to create an even better experience for practicing yoga away from the studio!

Here are some of the upgrades we’ve created on our new platform:

  • WE HAVE APPs!! Search for Practice with Clara on your – iPhone, iPad, AppleTV – Android phone and tablet – Roku – Amazon Fire TV – Chromecast and Android TV
  • The flexibility to add classes to a “Favorites” playlist to have easy access to your favorites
  • A much better search and filtering section to find exactly the type of class that you are looking for (Including new Chakras and Elements collections)
  • Our new phone and tablet applications will work similarly to Netflix and Spotify where you can download the classes on to your devices for offline viewing so you may practice from a remote area or shaky wifi
  • We invested heavily in a much more robust cloud engine to ensure your videos stream without interruptions
  • Free 7 day trial. Now you can try out all my classes and see if you like them. If you do, we’re excited to have you as part of the community, however if it’s not for you, no problem, you can unsubscribe anytime and you will not be charged.

Price 

You will notice that our pricing has increased from $14/Month to $15.99/Month and from $120/Year to $130/Year this is to offset the cost of all the apps that we have built plus the team required to help us manage it.

However before we officially change the price we wanted to provide you the opportunity to sign up at our original pricing one last time.

Survey 2019 responses

At the beginning of June we ran a survey to learn more about my kula (community).

We wanted to know:
What style of yoga did they enjoy practicing?
How many practiced online versus in the studio?
What were they looking to learn more about?

I thought it’d be fun to share some of the highlights:

 

We received over 200 responses!

Not surprisingly, my community loves Vinyasa/Flow yoga and meditation and 89% tend to stick to the teachers that they love most.

When asked what they appreciated most about my teaching, it was:
-Authenticity/Creativity in sequencing (21% of responses)
-Mantras/Chanting/Pranayama/Philosophy (20% of responses)

Which are the two things that light me up the most about teaching!
Happy to see we’re on the same page 🙂

Based on this feedback there will be lots of focus on sequencing, mantra and meditation.

 

I also learned that 60% of my kula practice yoga online. This insight helped to motivate me to create my platform to practice yoga online.

51% of the respondents have attended teacher training

40% of those who have not attended a teacher training are interested in attending one in the near future.

Many of you shared you preferred part time teacher training versus immersions.

Based on that feedback our 2020 training format has changed.
200 hour yoga teacher training has been broken up into weekend modules over four months.
300 hour teacher training has been broken down into three 10 day modules
Both are being offered in Vancouver, BC.

Many of the participants appreciated how we value intimate trainings, capping the 200 hour training to 18 and the 300 Hour YTT to 12 people.

Another core value of mine is giving student teachers lots of individual attention so again, so happy we’re on the same page!

One piece of great feedback from those who have taken yoga teacher trainings, is that they’d like to have more support after the training. Based on that, I will be launching an online forum in the near future to connect all my student teachers together to share ideas, receive feedback from not only myself but their peers.

What is your relationship to TRUST? ?

TRUST /trəst/ A firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.

Trust has always been a hard one for me. I trust myself, my decisions, my instinct. What I don’t trust easily is other people, their theories, their actions or words.

When I was 12 years old, my father signed me up for a coming of age program. On the first day we did a bunch of “trust” games. The last one involved us falling backwards and being caught by the rest of the group. Uhhhhh, I don’t think so. It took me 20 minutes to finally do it.

I had never thought about trust and never reflected on my relationship to other people. Everyone had fallen backwards without a second thought, but not me. I had to talk myself into it.

I spent the next 10 years learning how to let my guard down and trust people….who am I kidding? I’m still working on it. I’ve also learned to be patient with myself and soften in the process.

Stimulating the digestive fires is key to the body’s assimilation and maintaining gut health and how we feel. The belly communicates with our brain through nerves and hormones and contains the bacteria and immune cells that resist bacteria and viruses. When strong and balanced, the belly’s Agni helps digest the foods we eat and all life experiences.

If we take care of our Agni, our inner fire, and take care of our gut health and digestion, we don’t have to worry about Ama, which is toxins. Toxins may be physical or mental; we come into all sorts of ama that affects how we feel. To stay in optimal health, we focus on the positive; on creating strong Agni.”

To be able to maintain fire, you must tend it wisely. I’ve curated a mix of classes to give you days of rest or contemplation along with days to build heat and strength.*

*We invite you to listen to your body throughout the month. Remember that every pose/variation is an offering; you don’t have to do them. Rest when you need to. Before going deeper into a pose, ask yourself, does this serve where my body and mind are today?
