Chakra Series: Muladhara | Newsletter 07/11/20

We can come to the mat to connect with ourselves and reconnect to our spirit. I use my yoga practice as a tuneup. I’m tuning up parts of my body in tandem with tuning up parts of my mind and my spirit.

– Clara Roberts-Oss

Hello fellow seekers of truth,

This week we launched the Chakra Series!
“Chakra is a Sanskrit term and it means “wheel” or “disk” and is derived from the root word “cakra”. Chakras are spinning wheels of energy/light. Chakras have the loving responsibility of taking in, incorporating and emanating energy to keep us functioning at optimal levels.” -Reiki Times

For the next seven weeks, we’ll delve deep into the chakras and share weekly playlists with curated practices, rituals, pranayama, mythology, & more, related to the featured chakra.

This week was all about the root chakra, muladhara. With this theme, we work on creating stability, strength, and ease in the body. Coinciding with this theme, I shared yoga for SI (sacroiliac joint)  pain and why Forrest Yoga is featured in many of my strength-building classes on the site.

Rituals to settle after a long day…
I also shared some of the ways I settle after a long day, with three pranayama’s that help to create a sense of stability and calm:

  • Nadi-Shodhana
  • Bhramari Breath
  • Moving Meditation

You can listen to the podcast  or read Steph’s blog post to learn how to do these styles of pranayam or visit the #PracticewIthClara app to browse a selection of classes to do it with me!

Featured class of the day, all summer- long ☀️😎🌻
We’ll be sharing a class-of-the-day in the Facebook Group that coincides with our weekly theme moving forwards.

Sending big love and a virtual hug,
Clara & the familia.

Join Clara for a slow prenatal Hatha class that invites you to investigate the root chakra, Muladhara. This class is suitable for yogis of all levels and designed specifically for yogi mamas in their fourth trimester. With an emphasis on grounding, your nervous system will shift into rest and digest mode which helps the body soften and relax. This class focuses on the lower abdomen, inner thighs, hips, pelvis, and legs.
