We’ll unpack peak yoga postures, do a deep dive into Prana Flow Wave Theory sequencing, discuss themes, integrate unique elements into a class, and explore how and why we create balance in the body and mind.
This program features the history and practice of vinyasa yoga, specifically, Prana Vinyasa Flow pioneered by my teacher, Shiva Rea. This style of yoga embodies movement, chanting, music, and breath control to direct the life force/energy (Prana).
How you sequence, speak, select music, position yourself in the room, and use props and space contribute to the Bhav (mood) of the class. Selecting the elements that contribute to and communicate a theme will dramatically alter the overall feeling of the yoga class in the body and mind of students.
For advanced students, this is an opportunity to empower your practice; you’ll learn about peak poses, balance the muscle groups and why we do specific postures at a given time, and how to modify. This experience gives students a guide to their body, the vinyasa yoga practice, and how to align and adjust for what the body needs.
