I Took My Seat In The Circle

Hello, friends!

It’s nice to be back in this space with you again,

As if putting on an old t shirt and shorts

Feeling the soft fabric against my body, threadbare, familiar.

A space that is so familiar, I can see it with my eyes closed.

Today I stepped back in,

Took my seat in the circle

and closed my eyes.

Widening my field so I could feel you, feel all of you doing the same. Setting our intention to commune –

To commune with our bodies, our breath, each other.

We have all been here before – in this holy place we call yoga.

Yoga – to yoke – to bring the two together – to churn the many into the one.

As we chanted together in our own living rooms,

I transcended to a locus where we were sitting together – chanting.

My voice became our voices.

My intention joined your intention until the “my” and “your” slipped away and all that was left was the one.

A poem I wrote this morning after the yoga practice – it’s nice to be back in ytt (yoga teacher training) with you,

Clara
