It feels like a lot lately.
Both at home and around the world. I oscillate from being ok, to being like what the heck is going on? It’s a fine balance with staying up to date with current events and trying to stay focused with what’s in front of my person.
I find poetry to be helpful with processing all the things. Here’s a piece I wrote yesterday.
So many balls in the air. How to keep them all up?
Eye on the prize, but which one?
Mysticism, mixed with chaos, disbelief and light and laundry.
What’s else is being taken away?
What am I adding?
Are we bringing forth what has been lurking in the shadows or did we take the darks out too early?
Shhhhhhh be quiet.
Listen…very closely.
Stop trying to control it.
Stop trying.
Just. Stop.
Listen.
Feel for the answer. It’s going to be a quiet one.
An answer that will start to swell inside and once it’s ready – it’ll imbue all that you do.
Mahatma Gandhi said it – be the change you want to see.
Be
The
Change.
Send me a poem, an image or anything you’ve been inspired by.

Both pieces in this newsletter are by the talented Manabu Ikeda. I had the pleasure of seeing his work at a gallery a few years back. All of these pieces are done by pen and are over 4 feet tall and feel on point with the current times. |
