Owning My Space & Place

We’re coming up to one of my favorite “holidays” of the year, March 8th, International Women’s Day. My father taught me that, March 8th is a day to celebrate and reflect on the progress women and those identifying as women have made and how many people helped to make this time possible.

There have been many big and small changes that have occurred, not only in my life time but really within this century. The right to vote, reproductive rights, cracking the glass ceiling, support for parents, and the effort to be more inclusive with the many ways we identify. That being said, we’ve also been pulled back in many ways but I think I’ll keep it light today.

So family –
What kind of progress have you seen for those who are/identify as women?
Who has supported this progress?
Who has came before that may have paved the way?

The progress in my personal life –
Owning my space and place
Standing strong in my worth
Being more vocal about my boundaries.

I bow to the women in my life who have taught me by example.
These people have stood in their power while never dominating or diminishing others.
Who have been those examples for you?

Tell me some things,
Clara
