Resurfacing

I feel as though I’m resurfacing from a long time away from this newsletter. I’ve had a full 2 months.
April was chock full of events:
🎂 Karmen turned 5
💕 I led a 2 week training in the forests of Vancouver Island with 8 incredible humans, working alongside one of my favourite cohorts, Shani Cranston. I haven’t taught 12 hour days in a long time and I gotta say, it’s not as tiring as running after Karmen! This time away reminded me of why I love leading immersions – the content is the same but the way that it lands, what the group does with it and how we connect is different each time. We found a good groove together, I could have gone for another week!
The day it ended was my 45th birthday and it was perfect.
I haven’t felt like celebrating my birthday for almost a decade now, as my mother passed 5 days before it. But this year, I turned a corner. I felt ready to share it and celebrate it and we sure did! We started the day with a teacher’s practice, where we all lead a part of the sequence. We had a delicious breakfast made by Shani, and the group showered me with thoughtful gifts. I came home to a delicious farm to table dinner with my partner and slept in the next morning for the first time in, what felt like forever.

May began with our 9 month online virtual training and setting up my patio garden with flowers and herbs. The weather has been sunny and is starting to warm up!

I can’t believe June is already here. In a few short weeks, we’ll be celebrating the summer solstice and then my family and I are off to Europe to the France retreat and some vacation time in Italy.

Dunno what your plans are for this month, but Practice With Clara is hosting a 30 day yoga challenge – the Slowdown. A challenge that inspires us to take it down a notch on our mats to counter all the doing June usually has to offer. It’s open to all. Details are below.
