Seasonal Wisdom: How Spring Supports Your Energy & Well-being

Seasonal Wisdom: How Spring Supports Your Energy & Well-being

Spring is a season of renewal, expansion, and emergence. In the practice of yoga, we recognize this shift as an awakening from dormancy into movement, clarity, and light.

As part of the Practice with Clara Virtual Yoga Studio, this session with Cindy Stockdale invites you to step into the natural rhythm of the seasons, aligning with your own growth, energy, and transformation.

Just as nature thaws, blooms, and begins to flourish, we, too, undergo an inner shift—an awakening of potential, creativity, and vision.

In this session, you will:
✔ Tune into your energy and honor how you feel in the present moment.
✔ Explore the balance of stillness and movement as we transition from winter’s quiet reflection to spring’s expansive growth.
✔ Understand the energy of spring through Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the seasonal wisdom of the liver and gallbladder meridians.
✔ Discover how anger, vision, and boundaries play a vital role in your expansion.
✔ Learn how seasonal eating supports your transition into this new cycle.

Spring invites us to soften, receive, and step into what is calling us forward. Through breath, awareness, and alignment, let’s awaken what is ready to rise within us.

Meet Cindy Stockdale:

My deepest passion is to support you to reclaim your personal power and help you live a fulfilled and satisfied life.

I am a certified Quantum Life Coach with degrees in Psychology and Archaeology. I have been teaching yoga, studying Mountain Shamanism and the energetic healing arts for over 20 years, and been an intuitive and channel my entire life.

My highest purpose is to help people remember they are loved. This is a true homecoming. Homecoming means we get to identify what we believe to be true, not what society has told us we need to be. We learn how to identify and discern our own feelings, beliefs, sensations, and then have the courage to live them outloud in the world. I am here for the wild one, the edge walker, the curse breaker, the life claimer. I am here for those who are ready to transform their lives.

WHERE TO FIND CINDY:

Seasonal Wisdom: A Meditation on Transformation & Growth

1. Arriving in the Present Moment

Find a tall seat or comfortable position, whether seated, lying down, or simply listening.

Close your eyes.
Breathe deeply.
Let go of expectation and anticipation.

Honor what is present within you, without judgment.

Spring carries themes of emergence, light, and renewal—but if you’re not feeling that yet, that’s okay. You are exactly where you need to be.

2. The Energy of Spring – Seasonal Wisdom of Emergence

Spring marks the return of the light. Days grow longer, and life awakens from winter’s darkness.

This season holds immense potential for transformation—but transformation begins in acceptance.

Softening into the present moment, notice:

  • What is awakening within me?
  • What feels alive, ready to emerge?
  • Where do I feel potent energy inside of me?

Spring asks us to honor the seeds of possibility that have been resting in the dark.

3. Expansion & The Balance of Yin & Yang

Winter is yin—a season of stillness, introspection, and restoration.
Summer is yang—a season of heat, energy, and full expansion.

Spring is the bridge between the two—a delicate, yet powerful transition from quiet to movement.

  • The feminine energy of winter (soft, dark, quiet, introspective)
  • The masculine energy of the sun (heat, expansion, growth, movement)

Spring is the great return of illumination—an invitation to move forward without force but with trust, grace, and alignment.

Imagine stepping outside into the warmth of the sun.
Feel the light soaking into every cell of your being.

Let this thaw away tension, bringing you into a state of flow, ease, and expansion.

4. The Power of Transformation – Flowing with Grace

Spring is a season of movement, but we don’t force growth.

We step into flow, honoring the natural rhythm of emergence.

Imagine:

  • The melting of ice into water—from solid to liquid, rigidity to flow.
  • Your body softening into this transition, allowing expansion to feel natural, not forced.
  • Honoring winter’s rest, without resentment, knowing every season serves its purpose.

Where do you feel this great thaw within you?

5. The Seasonal Wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine – Spring & The Wood Element

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), spring is associated with:
✔ The Wood Element – Expansion, flexibility, and vision.
✔ The Liver & Gallbladder Meridians – Detoxification, decision-making, and movement.
✔ The Emotion of Anger – The energy needed to push through resistance and create boundaries.

Spring is the time when we transition from inward reflection to outward expression.

The wood element teaches us to be like bamboostrong yet flexible, able to move with life’s winds without breaking.

6. Anger as a Force for Growth

Anger is often misunderstood, but it is essential for transformation.

  • It is the energy of a sprout pushing through the soil toward the sun.
  • It is the force behind setting boundaries and claiming space.
  • It shows us where energy needs to move.

Many people have been conditioned to suppress anger, but spring reminds us that anger is not inherently destructive—it is fuel for growth.

Ask yourself:

  • Where have I been silencing my own needs?
  • Where does my energy want to move?
  • How can I use my voice to create space for my growth?

7. Spring & The Body – Supporting Seasonal Wisdom & Transitions

Spring is a powerful time to support the liver & gallbladder meridians by:

Eating seasonally – Fresh greens, sprouts, bitter foods, and light, nourishing meals.
Moving the body – Gentle twists, deep breaths, and movement to release stagnant energy.
Cleansing & Detoxification – Drinking lemon water, herbal teas, and reducing processed foods.
Aligning with nature – Spending time in the sun, breathing fresh air, and honoring the cycle of life.

Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches us that eating in alignment with the seasons supports balance and well-being.

What is growing in abundance during spring? Greens, sprouts, shoots, fresh herbs—all foods that naturally support the liver’s process of detoxification and renewal.

8. Spring as the True New Year – A Time of Vision & Action

Before modern calendars, many cultures celebrated the New Year in spring.

  • The Persian New Year (Nowruz) falls on the Spring Equinox.
  • The Lunar New Year follows the first full moon of the year, aligning with the natural cycle of renewal.

Spring is the real beginning—a time of planting intentions and creating momentum.

Ask yourself:

  • What do I want to create this year?
  • What vision is emerging within me?
  • How can I take action to bring it to life?

This is the moment to step forward, fully aligned with the energy of growth.

9. Closing Reflection – A Call to Expansion

Take a deep breath.
Place your hands over your heart.
Feel the pulse of energy rising within you.

Spring is calling you forward.
It is awakening something within you.
It is time to step into your radiance, your truth, your light.

Trust in your unfolding.
Trust in your emergence.
Trust that you are exactly where you need to be.
