Tips to Transform Limiting Beliefs Online Workshop

Transform Your Limiting Beliefs: A Virtual Workshop with Clara Roberts-Oss

Limiting beliefs may be conscious thoughts created to protect one from failure or from the collective unconscious. One of the wonderful aspects of yoga, meditation, and similar embodied practices is their ability to assist the practitioner in listening to the body’s wisdom and the subconscious sensations the conscious mind may reject.

As part of the Shadow School Yoga Program, Irene Sanchez-Celis offered several techniques for transforming limiting beliefs. In this short online workshop, you’ll welcome uncomfortable emotions and thoughts into your space to confront your shadow.

By addressing discomfort, we open up a space to greet our shadow, the unconscious. Irene offers three ways to address the shadow: energy, awareness, and clarity.

This online workshop includes a PowerPoint presentation that provides tactile tips and techniques for transforming your limiting beliefs. This technique, based on Ontogonic Body Mind Therapy, will help you on your path of Self-Realization by connecting you back with your Truth.

Review the online workshop discussion with Irene:

How do we transform limiting beliefs?

We cultivate energy through bioenergetic practices like Qigong and yoga awareness.

We cultivate practices of meditation and clarity through self-therapy, self-inquiry, or therapy with professionals.

The technology I’m offering you today is a self-therapy practice.

What is the shadow?

The shadow is everything that we reject about ourselves and everything that we reject about others.

Those things make us cringe, and we don’t like or want to face them. And because we don’t want to face them, we put them in a closet.

We hide them in our psyche—the unconscious—where we are, unaware of them daily.

Our psyche, our being, can be seen as an iceberg. The top is our consciousness, which we are aware of daily; the rest is everything we’re unaware of.

Meet Irene Sanchez-Celis

We hold the codes and secrets of life within us. When we go within and tap into those parts of our beingness, we decode life. And it becomes more fun, joyful, and full of pleasure. So that’s the goal—to live from a place of joy and delight, freedom and abundance, wisdom and compassion, and service.

— Irene Sancher-Celis.

How do you work with the shadow?

We’re only aware of 10 percent of our whole being and makeup. The rest is in our subconscious, unconscious, and the collective unconscious.

I love seeing shadow work as a treasure hunt.

In terms of our behaviors and preferences, we think that they’re not healthy, that they’re on, and that they’re toxic. We put them into the shadows, into the unconscious.

I love to reframe shadow work from something hard, painful, and uncomfortable to a treasure hunt, something playful, where you go into it with curiosity and, yes, expect that it might be uncomfortable.

It is unpleasant to face things you don’t like about yourself, but we can do hard things. We can do uncomfortable things. And when we lean into comfort, the transformation happens. And so, the more and more you do shadow work, the easier it becomes and the more fun it becomes because it’s like, that wasn’t too bad.

What do you gain from working with the shadow?

You know, mastering yourself is our way of decoding the mysteries of life because we are holograms of the universe.

We hold the codes and secrets of life within us. When we go within and tap into those parts of our beingness, we decode life. And it becomes more fun, joyful, and full of pleasure. So that’s the goal—to live from a place of joy and delight, freedom and abundance, wisdom and compassion, and service.

What is the purpose of working with the shadow?

Ultimately, we’re here to give. We are love, and the natural expression of love is to give. But we cannot give what we don’t know or know what we can’t see. So, this is an invitation to go within and excavate into the depths of your psyche. All right, this practice I will offer you is very gentle and straightforward.

What is the practice of working with the shadow?

We constantly tell ourselves stories that are not accurate based on our personal experiences so far in life.

Based on cultural norms and regulations, people’s opinions, our opinions, and our self-critical voices, we all have these inner voices that oppress, suppress, tell us that it’s not possible, and limit us, but we are limitless. We are full of boundless energy and abundance.

We just need to tap into it and release all those webs we have created to create space for our divinity to rise and emanate the beautiful light we are.

We are all divine light. This practice helps us clean the cobwebs in our psyches, minds, and bodies.

The first is that you need a pen and journal.

This is considered a self-therapy process, and I love it because you will have this tool forever—a tool you can utilize anytime in your life.

It’s because it addresses and integrates the analytical mind, the oneiric mind, the symbolic mind, and the body wisdom, the sense of the body.

When we connect these three minds, we tap into the intuitive mind, our true nature.

I first want you to bring something you desire into your awareness and write about it in a positive phrase. Write your word, and then continue.

Now that you have your positive phrase, this is where the fun part begins. Write down why you don’t believe this is possible.

Everything that is blocking this experience. Everything from the past and present moment that tells you, no, this is not possible.

Now that you have let go of all the limiting beliefs, there are no more limiting beliefs.

You have to feel this phrase. This positive phrase feels authentic to you.

If you’re not there yet, keep going with the negatives and positives until you arrive at that positive phrase.

What is the practice of transforming limiting beliefs in meditation?

As I guide you through this relaxation, start repeating your mantra internally, the one you’ve created.

This mantra helps you to relax even more, tap into the perfect depth of relaxation, and integrate this positive phrase into your psyche and your being.

Relax your abdomen, allowing your hips to widen and melt into the earth. Bring awareness to your back body, relaxing your upper back, middle back, and lower back. All tensions are melted away through your breath and mantra.

Your spine is straight, aligned, healthy, strong, but very relaxed.

As you repeat your mantra internally, you drop into the perfect depth of relaxation to receive this energy, this medicine.

Connecting deeper and deeper into your inner wisdom, into the power with the power of your unconscious, this happens naturally without any effort. The more you relax, the more you tap into the wisdom of your unconscious, going deeper and deeper into the perfect death of relaxation, where you are connected to your inner wisdom, to the wisdom of your body, to the wisdom of your higher mind, to the wisdom of your soul.

Keep repeating your mantra of this beautiful medicine you have created.

Allow yourself to sit here in a meditative space and be held by the medicine of your mantra.
