Celebrate the first day of spring (or any transition/new beginning) with a short meditation. Equinox represents the middle ground of darkness and light as it’s the time when day and night are equal in length. This meditation invites you to attune to balance and find your equilibrium as we shift with the seasons. Honor what you need and what you want to flourish in the months ahead.

According to Ayurveda, we’re moving from the dark, static energy of Kapha dosha into the light. As we shift the introverted energy of winter into the budding of spring, we prepare our minds and body’s through cleansing and cleaning. Drink lots of water, get outside and enjoy the sunlight, switch up your diet, clean your house, and prepare for new beginnings.
Spring is a time of rebirth and renewal. It’s the time to plant the seeds for what you want to flourish and grow. It’s time to examine where we want to invest our time, energy, and resources. It’s time to investigate relationships with others and yourself. It’s time to come out from hibernation and invite all those and that which you love into your backyard—what will you tend to? What might you plant?
We’re moving from the inner quiet we cultivated during the colder months into action. Summertime is Pitta dosha, which is associated with activity, ambition, and leadership. All that we’ve been contemplating and sitting with in the past months of winter we cultivate and bring from our private inner world to the outer world we share with others. Springtime is the period to plan for new beginnings, invest in relationships you want to develop, and tend to the areas of our lives we want to blossom.
