Join Clara for a creatively sequenced class that tests your capacity to breathe through deep lunges, core work, and back bending. Fluid, fast-paced, and well-rounded, Rock the Boat will bring you into a state of play with unexpected twists and flourishes throughout the sequence.
Start with a flowy spin on the Sun Salutations to warm up your spine and connect to a deep breath. Progress to a flow building in warrior 1, seated spinal twists, and variations on navasana (boat pose) rocking through to chair pose.
Don’t be afraid to rock and roll around on your mat as you build heat and core strength to prepare you for back bending. Open the front of the chest with half-upward plank pose, and move to setu bandha sarvangasana (bridge) with variations to work your hamstrings and glutes.
Complete your heart-opening with urdhva dandasana (wheel pose). Topped off with more twists, yummy side-waist stretching and forward folds, you’ll close your practice with a longer-held upavistha konasana (wide-leg forward fold) from the ground before closing with a seat in meditation.
